Cover Reveal for Alice Will

September 21, 2016

I want to thank everyone in advance for helping me share this exciting re-release of my YA Fantasy series! This represents my first foray into indie publishing, and I've found the most incredible network of support and love within the community. I'm so glad to be a part of it now as a hybrid author! Of War and Taters is still published by the fabulous team at World Castle Publishing. The promised cover is below, but first I want to give a shout out to the two artists who made this project a success.

I started working first with the incredibly talented artist Leos "Okita" Ng in July on concepts for covers for both Alice and Tilt as well as new character art for Miro and Ursula. He made the process mindblowingly easy - I gave him a few high level ideas, and he'd immediately send back incredibly detailed sketches that pulled ideas together that I'd only half-formed. I'm pretty sure he could read my mind. When he sent me the final colorized version of this new cover I squealed at my desk. Then I showed some close friends so they could squeal along with me.

But having the artwork is just the first step. Now I needed another fantastic artist to help me turn it into an actual book cover. Enter the lovely and amazing Carrie Butler! Carrie is an author, artist, and all-around multi-tasking genius. Her sense of design carried the theme into the perfect wraparound cover that made me - yes - squeal yet again.

Artists beware - working with me is a noisy prospect.

Pre-orders are officially available today! Get your own copy at Amazon for only $2.99. If you have already read Alice and would like to read the sequel, I'm giving away FREE e-copies of Tilt to everyone who leaves a review for Alice! Simply leave a review and drop me an email, and I'll send you an early copy just before Tilt is re-released in November.

So now, without further delay, please take a look at this incredible work of art that these two talented artists produced for my baby! This is truly the cover Alice Will deserved :-)

About Alice Will:
Alice is the first book in the Dreams of Chaos series (the 2nd will be re-released soon) and is age appropriate for ~10 and up. The series grows up with Trotter, the 14-year old heroine of this first story, and the material does progress in maturity with her. Given that, Alice Will can be read as a standalone novel for younger readers not yet ready to read the darker concepts and slightly more violent scenes found in the 2nd and 3rd books in the series.

From the jacket:
Fourteen year-old Trotter was still just trying to get the hang of the demi-godding business when the apocalypse began. In a world where the gods have withdrawn from humanity, leaving mortals bitter toward magic, she finds herself constantly torn between her human and goddess sides. When the world begins to fade away and she becomes the prime suspect, her search to find the cause and prove her innocence ends up revolving around a mysterious little girl named Alice. Then Trotter discovers that not all of the gods had been as distant as they seemed...

Now, with everyone against her and the gods fighting amongst themselves, Trotter is on her own to save her world and stop a vengeful god from using Alice to destroy everything.

Reviews:

“It's smart, it's funny, it's sad, it's action-packed... It's like Harry Potter with a divine twist!” - Elizabeth Seckman, author of the Coulter Men Series

“It's a rollicking adventure with nail-biting suspense tempered with humor.” - Tom Hooten, author of Hollytime

“What I will say is that when this book is good, which is 96.3% of the time... it is damn good." - Dennis P. Sharpe, author of The Coming Storm Trilogy
